New here - researching grandfather

Hello! My name is Beth. I am 31, and I am interested in learning all that I can about my grandfather during WWII. I have been researching his path off and on over the past few years, without much luck. I am interested in any information and hope to find access to his unit history if possible. I appreciate any help, advice, or pointing in the right direction!

I know that he spent time in Alaska, the Asiatic Pacific, Northern France, and Central Europe. I have my grandfather's honorable discharge form. It lists him as being in Co A 118th Inf Regt at the time of his separation on 25 Oct 1945.
