As von Ribbentrop was soon after the war started not very popular at Hitler´s bunker von Ribbentrop put Mr Walter Hewel there instead. "HEWEL, Walter, Representative of the Reich Foreign Minister on the staff of the Führer " as it says his postion. I also read on him that he was the man who read the international news to Hitler every morning(ish) ( about 11-12 am after Hitler woke up) and thus was an important person.( as he could decide which news would be read ) He tried to escape from the Bunker(after Fuhrer´s death) , but they could not get out of Berlin . So in order not to get prisoned by Russians and as well after making a promise to Hitler for committing suicide, he took poison and died on 2nd May 1945. ------ Anyway, this man seems to have had a close relationship with Hitler, yet not hated by Bormann (?). And unfortunately not much info in the net. Does anyone have more on him in the books?
After the Downfall movie wonder if anyone got more info as he seems like rather an important man in the late phase of war...??
