Books about the Italian and Southern France campaigns

Ok, so I don't know if I should have split this in to two topics, as these are two separate subjects, but I ended up creating just one topic

So, my questions:

1. Are there any good books about the Italian campaigns (Avalanche, Cassino, Anzio etc.) that were written from Allied POW? It can be "an overall strategical story" of the whole Italian campaign written by a historian or it can be something that follows a smaller unit and its journey through the battle. Or something from between!

2. Same question, but about the campaigns in Southern France and some of the battles in France that are not discussed that much. It seems to be pretty hard to find some good reads about Colmar Pocket and Dragoon etc. I guess they are not as media sexy as Normandy and everything that was a part of the whole Overlord campaign, but I'm interested

For the Italian campaign, I would recommend part 2 of Rick Atkinson's Liberation trilogy -- it's titled The Day of Battle: The War in Sicily and Italy, 1943–1944

I would also recommend Lloyd Clark's Anzio: Italy & the Battle for Rome
