Hope you like those cool BW training movies: Most are from period 60ties to 80ties (Maybe I find also stuff of the type of unit I served in). I will refrain from posting newer BW videos, cause I think they a) went downhill and b) are involved in too much "foreign wars".

Also some of the newer movies produced by the BW itself seem to have too much propaganda in them. While most of the cold war period and shortly thereafter they were quite informative and neutral - even if in manouvres mostly the blue side (=Nato) wins :(

    a) Driving in snow

    b ) Tank hunters (Kanonen & Raketenjagdpanzer)

    c) Gepard 35mm shooting (must hear sound)

    d) BUNDESLUFTWAFFE manouvre "Steel shadow" (F104, Fiat G91,F4 etc.)

    More to add...

Thanks, well I stood guard for the skies in the endphase of the cold war for a while (Radar/AA), so I guess I am still quite fascinated by it :)

I also post only vids with good sound, means not stupid music but engine sound of tanks and jets. So esp. in the case of Leopards or Phantoms you can turn the volume up, cause they sound cool.

Here is a video about an older, but simmilar system we used in the CRCs: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control_and_Reporting_Centre

    Gosh that brings back memories!

I was trying to spot Hohne and Munsterlager ranges.

The Gephard seems to have started a couple of range fires. I wonder how long the firing continued after the camera stopped rolling.

The shots of Luneburg heath in the snow brought a sympathetic chill to my toes. .

See if you can see the same ranges in use in this British made training film..

You can also hear a young Sheldrake here in a How two production..

How we thought WW3 would start...

and artillery support for a battlegroup attack.

...and an introduction to some of the nuances of the British Army.

Not entirely safe for work. Authentic squaddie spoken here.....

@ Sheldrake: The British arty video I viewed it already before :) You served with the BAOR?

I thought it might be a good idea to add some stuff from the "OTHER" side, I found 2 east German vids (GRD/DDR) from the NVA:

    a) NVA mot. Rifle regiment:

    b) Battle of Adorf (NVA vs. BW)

Thanks hope you enjoyed your stay. I just wanted to ask if you happened per coincidence visited the Hachenberg Luftwaffe barracks, cause we had some British guests there once. They wanted to train in the woods and hills I guess. Cause the BAOR area is mostly flat I guess to get some training in other terrain is a good idea..... But checked your age and probably wasn´t the case... good troops the Brits imo.

So here is another 80ties gem which you Sheldrake might even more enjoy as arty guy:

Artillery in battle (I think 3 or 4 parts, it is really good even if the "blue" side of course wins again lol they should have build in more crisis situations to make it more realistic imo)
