My father, Vail Van Leuven, would like to communicate with other Veterans of the 27th division who fought on Okinawa. He is 90 years old and has a good memory.

    Welcome to the forums.

Here's our previous thread on the 27th. http://www.ww2f.com/topic/16520-27th-inf-div-on-okinawa/

Unfortunately the members in the thread who had living relatives haven't been on the forums in some time.

Cpl James J Roach 27th Division, 105th Field Artillery, Battery C

Allen Quin 27th Division, 105 infantry regiment, B company.

    Have you tried http://www.military.com/HomePage/UnitPageSearch/1,13507,S|ARMY,00.html?strCurrentNamePath=Army

Hopefully some of the other forum members can be of more help.

Welcome to the Forum, Ann. I hope you are able to make a connection with a 27th Division veteran or at least a relative. If your father is willing, we would be happy to have him share his WWII story with us in the "Those Who Served" section of the Forum.

I am very sorry to hear that your father has passed away, RS. Please accept my condolences on your loss.

Our father was in the 27t Div on Okinawa. We have a picture of him relaxing with several soldiers. One is named Roach and we wondered if this is your father. Ours died at 89 in 2008.
