Hello, I just realised a minute ago that this fork (which i always use) has some nazi symbols on it. I know there are more like this out there, but i would like to know what the "M" stands for, so far i haven't found anything about it. I live in the Netherlands and this fork used to belong to my grandmother which bought and resold all kinds of junk. Probably not realizing what she was buying https://www.dropbox.com/s/htona5lhxnglxmk/20150621_160354.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/8dz9h0pq5ydisgg/20150621_151041.jpg?dl=0
The "M" means it was Kriegsmarine issued. The "M" is oversized, and the only maker I am aware of that did this was WELLO. The name and/or maker's mark (an elephant) should be on the backside.
Hardly surprising, as there were several makers of silverware for the Kriegsmarine. I have even seen Km silverware without any makers mark.
