I am researching a Pfc William A. Mills of the above unit. He was KIA December 25, 1944 after being transferred to the 104th IR. I need the information for his story for my next book. Can anyone tell me about this unit, what was there function, what higher unit were they attached to? Any information is helpful. Thanks.
Try looking for this book. https://books.google.com/books/about/We_Followed_Patton.html?id=LWU2HQAACAAJ It's in Carlisle, but your friendly local librarian should be able to request it through an inter-library loan. You can probably get it here http://d35nzyetqsca2n.cloudfront.net/book/we-followed-patton-652nd-engineer-topographic-battalion_h8mlb.pdf
The PDF seems a bit sketchy to me, Lou. I think trying a library is the better option. Of course, there is a copy for sale on the popular auction site... if you happen to have $350.00 sittin' around doin' nuttin'.
