    Hello Gentlemen,

I have a question please regarding the size of a Rifle Squad or Light Machine Gun Squad in an Armored Infantry Rifle Company. From what I understand, the standard size was 12 men. I was reading through a 1945 CIB General Order with the names of each recipient from a certain Company.

I noticed a pattern in the list of names where it appears the men were grouped by squad. Several of the groups are listed in this order: S/Sgt - Sgt - Tech5 - then 10 PFC's. That equals 13 though? Was that possible?

    Thanks!
    James

    Hello Sheldrake,

So you're saying that the Half Track driver would be the 13th squad member in this case? Interesting thought, I guess I assumed the driver was part of the normal 12 man squad. I overlooked that possibility : )

    Thanks!
    James
