I read this today, and thought it deserved a wider audience.

This week marks the 70th anniversary of the sinking of the heavy cruiser USS Indianapolis, a disaster that resulted in the greatest loss of life at sea in the history of the United States Navy.
Last weekend, 14 of the 31 remaining survivors of that disaster gathered at a reunion in Indianapolis to commemorate the event, bond with their still-surviving shipmates, and remember those lost.
