Who was the Lt. who was killed during the ill fated Pegasus II operation? I have read that it was both Lt. Dixon of the 506th PIR and Lt. Wilcombe of the 501st PIR. Which is correct?

Also, who from the 101st were the carrying parties for the Storm Boats? Which unit was on the river at Hetteren during November 17th to 20th, 1944?

AFAIK, there was no 506th officer with the name of Dixon/Dickson KIA during the entire war. The only officer with a last name beginning with D, that was KIA, was 2nd Lieutenant James L. Diel(9/19/1944).

According to the War Diary of the 23rd Fd. Coy. R.C.E. it was Lt. Wilcombe.
