....to our Canadian comrades! I had to look it up to see how y'all did it up there, and it seems that it's about the same way it's done down here, except for the football games and the lead up to Black Friday. Couldn't figure out why y'all didn't choose to celebrate in when we celebrate ours though. Just had to be different eh, just like that strange style of football y'all play up there. I'm talking the CFL style, with 12 men, commercial advertisements on the field and uniforms, the extra long field and real deep end zones type of football, not that kickball crap the rest of the world plays. I must say I like the concept of running back extra points and field goals. Not so enamored with the deep end zone so much, I like the tight passes that have to be thrown to stay inbounds but I can't figure out how to run a place kick back without the extra yardage back behind to goal posts. Anyway, that would be a neat idea, move our Thanksgiving up to coincide with the Thanksgiving of the Great White North! Is that term, The Great White North considered PC up there? So anyhoo, that holiday tweaking might get some of the violence out and stampeding deaths from occurring when the doors are thrown open in our shopping malls. With the Christmas shopping season greatly extended, then there'd be less fist fights over the latest iwhatever, toy and strange/silly new style of garment. Also, a couple of extra pay days between the new and much earlier Thanksgiving will help the cash crunch that Christmas always brings on. I could fit right in with that part alone! So, Happy Thanksgiving eh!
Canadian football was great...when we employed a lot of Canadians. Could recognize names/ guys over the years- who would (mostly) stay with the same teams...There were some great Americans who played here because when they first started, weren't considered first class in the US (Flutie-Moon-etc etc), but became great here and moved on. ..If they had their druthers, any CFL player would rather play in the US of $. The new 2 point and field goal rule in the NFL will make the game even more exciting. The Pittsburgh game was perfect- Vick actually, eventually doing something -as well as a few other games that went into OT...NFL is the best...The London game was kind of lame, but to be expected when the crowd doesn't know how to react. Thanks with the Thanksgiving.
Thanks always appreciate the kindness of our American brothers. Me, I went to the cabin with my 2 girls and one of their boyfriends. Did some back roading and got a couple of grouse. KTK
