    Kenny brought up future duct tape.
    But wasn't cardboard new in '42. Did plastic even exist back then? ...wax paper over your gun barrel.
    Small things that helped win.

    Elastic bands. Never thought i'd look it up. But here i am.

    Bakelite - patent 1909
    celluloid - 1869, patent for film 1889
    PVC - first synthesized 1872,
    Polystyrene - discovered 1839, produced 1930's
    Vinyl - 1931
    Nylon - 1935


    Some pre WW2 Cardboard

    Invented in China - 15th Century
    Cardboard boxes produced in England - 1857
    Corrugated Cardboard - English patent 1856 - used as a liner for tall hats
    Corrugated cardboard packing - USA patent 1871 - wrapping bottles and glass lantern chimneys
    Cereal box - Kellogs Corn Flakes.
