Ive just started my Personal Study which is part of my 2nd year of History A level study and im going to be using this forum alot to get some help with it.

Im thinking of studying 'military/intellegience deception which contributed to the success of the actual D Day invasion and shortly afterwards'.

Ive started some investigation into GARBO the double agent which managed to convince the real d day invasion was still coming to calais despite the actual real invasion was already under way.

Well to my main point, can anyone help me find some good maps of german forces of their positions in france on D Day? I need to show proof of the effects of Garbo's fake intel.

    All help will be appreciated!

    Thanks :D

    Wild,
A couple of good books are:
Operation Fortitude; the D-Day Deception Campaign
    and
The Struggle for Europe by Chester Wilmot, who was actually a War Correspondent in NW Europe.

I have maps of the German positions in the British sectors of D-Day.

I think there was a H&C book with good maps of German deployments.

Also Zetterlings book, 'Normandy 1944' lists all the German troops used in the Normandy campaign and gives their initial locations.

I teached on the Normandy module for Wolves Uni so if I can be of any assistance drop me a email or PM.
