Hi, everyone, In 2010 I saw Band of Brothers and was inspired to go to Normandy on D-Day 2010. Since that amazing experience, I've been interviewing WW2 veterans. I started with a group of pilots (Old Bold Pilots) in San Diego, and interviewed about 30 of them that had fought in WW2. Then I interviewed a handful of ex-POW's in San Diego, also from WW2. A Texas historian invited me to Germany in 2010 as well, as I speak German fluently, and I met quite a few veterans at a Panzer reunion. It just grew from there, and in the last five years I've spent several months a year in Europe, interviewing people in Germany, Austria, England and France, as well as American veterans all over the US. The time (and personal savings) for interviewing is pretty much over, but all in all I have 180+ High Definition video interviews and access to hundreds more through some of my friends who have done the same. Now I'm working on my first book about several B-24 crews shot down by Luftwaffe Ace Egon Mayer, and the French, Canadian and British people who helped them evade capture. The second book I'd like to write is about my good friend who is an Africa Corps veteran who has reconciled with the British Sherwood Rangers Tank Regiment who fought against him in Tunisia. Reconciliation is a huge theme, as well as the intersection between American and German veterans. Look forward to participating and connecting with other passionate WW2 fans, Heather
