Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any information on this base in Hawaii. I heard a little from my grandmother that my grandpa was stationed here. He was off to Okinawa, Japan to fight, but he got lucky when the Army was looking for a draftsman. He was there until 1946 and left as a Warrant Officer (according to Fold3). I was wondering if anyone had information on the base (like I listed above) and what draftsmen did there.
    Thank you for your time,
    A.C.

P.S. I'm not sure if this topic is in the right place.

Does anyone know who I can contact at Fort Shafter about a relative who served in the Army there during WWII? Or any other person to contact other than the National Archives?

The Public Affairs office at Fort Shafter would be your best bet.
