    Hello
I have found a ww2 british shell fuse and i was cleaning dirt of it and i noticed a M with a hole bellow

Please note there is a lot of damage to the fuse due to it being used

Can any one tell me what it means/what it did

    Thanks

I'm not up on British artillery fuses but it looks a lot like a US multi-purpose fuse M-1915. I'd need more pictures and dimensions to narrow down the exact fuse. It looks to be missing the PD detonator, the "tick" marks around the base ring are for setting time. The notch is for a fuse wrench.
