Some great photos. "An RAF pilot's photographs and logbook of a disastrous air raid during the Second World have emerged after more than 70 years. The raid over a Norwegian fjord on German shipping in February 1945 became known as 'Black Friday' as 14 airmen were killed, four were taken prisoner and 10 RAF planes were destroyed. However Flying Officer Robert Field's Bristol Beaufighter - the aircraft known as the 'whispering death' because of its effectiveness in battle - escaped unscathed. Upon his return to base, FO Field wrote in his log: 'Intensive flak and enemy fighters, 9 Beaus lost. Very Enjoyable.' His logbook has now gone on sale, along with several black and white photos taken from one of the RAF bombers during the raid. The images, taken from a gun-sight camera, shows the bombs being dropped on a number of enemy ships as well as the anti-aircraft flak coming in the opposite direction. Others pictures show the large plumes of water erupting next to the German ships being targeted." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3883018/Intensive-flak-enemy-fighters-9-Beaus-lost-Enjoyable-RAF-pilot-s-logbook-photographs-disastrous-Black-Friday-attack-enemy-ships-WWII-sale-400.html#ixzz4OQxu9JKl
very nice, but 14 killed is actually a very low loss figure . Any Friday those days was ablack one. The pictures are very good quality and so is the logbook .
