We are all familiar with Isaac Asimov's Three Laws. hehe
But he hadn't considered bots without form, but still have function.
Should the internet form rules where a bot must state it is one?
Because there may be bots here, and nobody would want to waste time corresponding with a bot.

Unless that bot had a form...which eventually leads into robot sex...Just saying that the future looks promising. ..ladies better give it up more, or else. lol. i kid.

    edit- oops, forgot this-

These three laws are inadequate for todays ideas on Robots...But Asimov is a hero of mine.

Thanks Sheldrake...Recall watching Westworld as a kidlet. Absolutely loved it. Haven't seen it since, so unsure how it would fare with me now.
Enjoyed Yul Brenner, and the thought of robot sex, to a 10 year old was pretty heady stuff.
Have heard the new westworld stinks. ...Anybody seen it?

The Three Laws were only as good as the programmers that wrote them.

Asimov wrote the three laws...and he's (close to) the best...A scientist first and writer second.

You hate being human, don't you...there must be flaws to make things interesting.
Surely, somewhere, there is a 38 dd fleshbot with nipple hair

Nipple hair is extra...way too extra. Should be a law against it.
You could floss at the same time Pops...

I know programming, it's very fallible.

But if you look at the "big reveal" scene from I-robot you actually see a "good" robot break the 1st Law. (This before the rogue robots just plain ignore it, of course.)

When i said, in the OP, that we all knew the three laws. i didn't mean it literally. Will have to refresh.
Going to guess, because it has been a very long time.

I've been watching the new one. Classic HBO sex and violence, lol. It's pretty good. I am about 6 episodes and I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop

There is a series?...Don't mind me (Canadaian) our tv is brutal. Unless you pay an arm for decent programming.
Was referring to the new West World movie...have you seen the old/new one, KJ?

Granted more nudity than is absolutely needed, but it does ask some good questions about being human and a artificial intelligence. Suspect one of several shoes dropped last Sunday when a main character was revealed to be a host whom the audience thought was human. Did anyone catch the brief flash of the original man in black (Yul Brenner) two weeks ago?

Your right. I wasn't expecting that character especially.
