Hey everybody. I used to be a member at war44.com which has since been taken down. I was under the impression that it was being merged with this forum. Is that still happening? Either way, very happy to be here. Looking forward to getting to know you all around the forums.

    Welcome Aboard Mugger!

I can not specifically say if your former forum is being migrated here or archived/preserved by our safe harbor program. Otto, all hail Galaxar! is overseeing this and working to preserve as many defunct or neglected sites as he can. I have integrated a former forum into ours in the past, so it is possible.

Hopefully you will enjoy this site as much.

Welcome Mugger, goodtomeetcha, jump on in.

I think the data is going to be incorporated, but I am not sure when. This site will soon be changed to a different forum engine but I do not have a timeline for it.

    war44.com ?

Vague memories of having posted on that site many moons ago...............

The important thing is that you have just landed on a good forum, owned and managed by people of principle.

For my sins, I post mainly on the sister site, (ww2talk.com), but I occasionally post here to keep in touch with my American friends.

    Welcome aboard !

    Ron

Welcome to the site Mugger80. Very happy to see you dove in over here.

All of the posts and attachments from War44.com will be imported into this forum. It will be as if you made the posts here. The current plan is to import the War44 data at the same time as we move to the new server & XenForo software here. There are some technical hurdles to clear first, so I'm not 100% positive it will work out that way, but that is the current plan.

You did indeed post there Ron, some very good stories shared. The admin of War44 did a very good interview with you and a couple other WWII veterans, which is why I was keen to save the data ftom that site.

War44 wasn't a huge forum, but it did have some cracking content. I'll be very pleased to save your history and others once the move is complete.
