When I read that she had arrested on an airplane, I was concerned that this would come to pass. Cardiac arrest outside of a hospital and far removed from immediate medical attention usually does not end with a good outcome.
Actually, she got immediate attention from at least one doctor on the plane and a nurse as well. Some airliners at least carry defibrillators too, and from what I read this happened when the plane was only within 10 to 15 minutes of landing in Los Angeles. I'm not a doctor but it doesn't seem as if lack of care was the problem. I never cared much for Star Wars and came to loathe the whole machine as the years passed, but I am sorry to see her go. Poor Debbie Reynolds, she's very old and now she'll have to bury her own daughter.
I was a nurse, for 20 years. An airplane is not a medical facility and medically trained persons without proper equipment, drugs and the like are hardly more than well educated bystanders. A defibrillator does one thing, converts a fibrillating heart to a sinus rhythm. Contrary to what you see on TV and movies, it does not restart a heart. I think the percent of survival of persons experiencing cardiac arrest outside a medical facility is less than 10%. I would have to look it up and would suspect the number is closer to 5%. PURE SPECULATION-she was on the conclusion of a long flight, I wonder if she had a blood clot break loose.
With regards and respect to Ms Fisher and her family- who gives a RIP- Somebody died. A hollywood (barf) actress who had 1 hit. Hopefully cruise/cher/ dunham/all hollywood is next...what does the kim kardashabutt's think- who cares. Meanwhile, barry sticks it to Israel, Germany burns, US looks great again, London wants to built a "barrier" -not a wall-("all major cities should expect terrorism" -Khan), and Dallas is on route to winning the Superbowl. Main stream media- controlled by the left. edit- forgot this: http://www.breitbart.com/2016-presidential-race/2016/11/21/obama-joins-war-fake-news/
I think the Blues Brothers would also qualify as a hit but she could have been in a lot more films if she wanted. Wasn't really into that lifestyle from what I've read. Not sure I'd consider her a "Hollywood Actress" either.
C'mon Pops...she single handedly (no pun intended) launched puberty for untold thousands of little nerd boys in that gold bikini...and a boob pops out in Return of the Jedi (subsequent releases have deleted/digitally removed it!)
The FFZ is such a classy place. AP is reporting that Carrie Fisher's mother, Debbie Reynolds, has died. Whatever we think about Hollywood and the "Cult of Celebrity", these celebrities have families and loved ones who have been dealt a double tragedy.
'A Hollywood barf actress who only had one hit' - Hence a defence...and the topic more broadly is Carrie Fisher...that sufficient your honour? Wait...I just realised I don't care, never mind.
Not much of a defense that I can see. Looked more like some sort of stream of conscious verbiage. I don't agree with your "borad topic" interpretation either. So still insufficient and flawed to boot.
