I've corrected a typo in the story; he served in the RASC not "The Royal Army Corps". "Richard Adams, the author of the classic children's novel Watership Down, has died aged 96. The writer, from Whitchurch, Hampshire, 'passed away peacefully' at 10pm on Christmas Eve, according to a statement released by his family. The World War Two veteran conjured up Watership Down during bedtime story-telling sessions with his two daughters, Rosamond and Juliet. Adams stumbled into a career as a writer. Born May 9 1920, and raised in Berkshire, he enrolled at Worcester College in Oxford in 1938. When war broke, he enlisted in the Royal Army Service Corps." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4068782/Richard-Adams-wrote-children-s-classic-Watership-died-aged-96.html#ixzz4U5nUVXAz
