    Been visiting this site recently.

The Memory of a Nation contains a considerable amount of photos, oral histories and videos. Since my German is spotty, the site does need to be translated for some. The videos can be subtitled in English.

    Nice find!

But, the English subtitles leave a lot to be desired. Sometime you can make out the gist of the sentence and sometimes the subtitles are laugh-out-loud funny.

"This is a height where vulgarity wide grandmothers when I was a little kid"

Really wish I would have taken German in high school.

Yet another reason I wish I could speak/read German. I took a German reading course in graduate school, but all of that is gone now. My husband speaks German fluently (he was stationed there with the army in the 90s), but I doubt he wants to sit and watch all these with me and act as translator. :)

    Still, great find!
