Hey fellas, After quite some time I finished my second diorama, and I am pretty happy with it. This scene takes place in the Summer of 1944 in France, where a M4A3 Sherman tank passes two stopped M10 Tank Destroyers, whose crews are taking a break. Part 1/3
The Sherman nicknamed 'Cockney Candy' The crew of the second M10. The one in green sitting on the tank is enjoying a beer, and the one standing is drinking a Coke Crew of the Lead M10, nicknamed 'Heavy Hitter'
The whole thing is 9.5'' by 4.5'' The M4 was Italeri and the M10s were Amourfast. I made the camo nets myself The Tank crew and riders were from Milicast
Awesome seconded. BTW, do you ever do naval work? I have a map showing the Kido Butai at anchor in Hitokappu Bay.
Looks good but maybe clean some of the moulding flash off the gun barrels & use model filler to fill in the gaps , will make it look even better
Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it! These models were very cheap, and they were kind of 'test' models so I can use new techniques without ruining an expensive model. My next projects have better quality models, so that won't be an issue. Also I can use the excuse that they are battle tested
Great job if slightly marred by the low quality of the base models, there are some obvious "low hanging fruits" that could have been fixed by some judicious use of file & putty but from what you say that wasn't the plan. If I planned to do such high res pics (that is a bit unfair to a 1:72) I would go to great lenghts to drill the gun barrels, but that was one of my personal "musts", other modelers considered it a minor detail and you did spoil a lot of kits with "fails" in 1/76 .
