    Storied WW2F forumite TD-Tommy776 submits his first field report from Minnesota's historic Fort Snelling. From what I've read the fort was built in 1820 on the banks of the Mississippi River, very likely as protection against those dastardly Canadian loyalists living to the north. I'm not entirely sure if the image of a muzzle loaded cannon is intended as a threat (is it pointed Northward?), but I've conveyed the message to Canadian authorities just to be safe. :)

    First, whatever stories that Biak has been spreading about me are patently false. Second, Canada is safe. The cannon is pointed just about due East... right at Wisconsin. ;)

    That's sincerely what I meant to say, but muzzle loader came for some reason. I shall take a note from Stalin and erase the problem from the first post as if it never existed.

    I've been to Wisconsin many times, they are ripe for annexation. Couldn't you Minnesotans use a little extra living space?

    Actually, we're slowly migrating across the St. Croix River to take advantage of the lower taxes. That's what my son did.

    And speaking of him, several years ago we had a family portrait taken, but he couldn't be there. The photographer took his photo a couple weeks later and "reverse Stalinized" him into the family photo. She did a nice job. You would never know he wasn't actually there by just casually looking at the photo.

    I've driven through Wisconsin many times over the last 40 years and other than the cheese curds didn't see much. Besides, it seems Mother Nature doesn't take kindly to Packers Country cause when we get 4 to 8 inches of snow those poor cheeseheads can expect 12 to 24" of the hard water precipitation! I think it would better to invade North Dakota - better pheasant and duck hunting.

    As for any stories I may have espoused about TDT, as far as anyone knows they're all true.
    I WILL commend him on living in such a large metropolis as Minneapolis. Anyone who can survive the traffic down there has my utmost respect!

    The same thing is happening in Illinois, specifically Cook Country which contains Chicago. Taxes and crime here are preposterous and getting worse, the migration out of the Windy City has been steady since the year 2000. Less people live in Chicago today than in 2000, and even less than 27 years ago in 1990.

    Makes sense. I believe it'd be quicker to get around by boat than the roads. Although not up here as the Mississippi is only a little bigger than a trout stream.

    I'll get a postcard out in a couple days. Have to scrounge around and see what I can come up with. We're kinda self sufficient here in the North Woods.
