    Hi everyone,

Is anyone aware of a German officer who was nicknamed 'Shlachter' (or Butcher / Slaughter) during WW2 please? More specifically, someone who worked in a concentration camp.

I'm trying to trace details of someone whose name was given as Rudolf Schlachter, but after not being able to find much, I'm looking into the possibility of Schlachter being a nickname, rather than surname.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Thank you for your reply. Not him though. The other details don't fit.

If you could provide more information about the camp, the officer, and why you are trying to find him, it will make it easier for others to help.

Unfortunately, I don't know a lot about him. I only have sparse details to go on at the moment.

I don't know which camp it was. I have the name Rudolf Schlachter and know that he was from Berlin. He also had a daughter called Anna.

Hopefully more information will come to light shortly.

Do you have any more details on him, looking through Ancestry there are a number of Rudolf Schlachter's but narrowing it down to the right one needs some further information, approximate age, wifes name, where born something along those lines.

It is probably useful to know who gave him this nickname. Where did you get this name? Are you building on an oral history or something similar?

The more details surrounding the "investigation" the better.
