I would guess you were shooting at 200 yards? How many disciplines and how many scoring rounds per discipline? e.g. 7 rounds, 2 to sight/warm-up and 5 to score.

i HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY YARDS OR ROUNDS WE FIRED.
Sometimes I wonder about my memory, did it really happen, then I look in my diary and it did happen. My diary said Tuesday Oct. 26,1943
We got up and it was awful cold. We ate and had lecture on camouflage. Then went across the street and shot the tommy gun. Then we ate and had P.T., and went to the range for qualification. I qualified with a 142 score. Then we heard a band and went to bed at 9:15 P.M.7

OK, OK, I HEAR YOU, no need to shout. I did my shooting 25 years after you and in England. Just trying to help.

Hi Art--I don't know about your question but--I just happen to live with an ex- US Army Platoon Sergeant and I will ask him tonight what he knows agout scoring.

Incidently--he trained on the M-14--long before the Army went to carry the M-16.

I did noot get a chance to ask Sarge about that lastnight. He was gone by the time I got there as he was called into work early. I'll try again tonight to ask and see what he remembers about score on the rifle range.
