    British:

    Crusader I & II
    Covenator (a few were present)
Matilda II (a few were still in service)

    US lend lease to Britian

    M3 Stuart light tank
    M3 Grant medium tank

The M4 Sherman didn't arrive in theater for a couple more months.
The Crusader III (w/ 6pdr) was post Alamein.
The Valentine, like the Sherman hadn't arrived in theater yet.
Churchills are post Alamein (except for 3 in Kingforce at Alamein).

    Re - The Covenantor.

Chamberlin and Ellis state the following...

"Total output of Covenantors was 1,771, but the type was never used operationally, though it equipped UK-Based armoured divisions for training till 1943. Some were sent to the Middle-East for the training role and others were converted to bridgelayers".

All my sources state the Covenantor never saw any action...

They also state that the Crusader was "still in service in its later 6pdr armed form at the time of the battle of Alamein". They give a figure of 144 Crusader III built between May 1942 and July 1942.

They also state that the Valentine "appeared with tank brigades in the 8th Army in June 1941... and for a period in 1940-41 Valentines were used in the cruiser tank role in armoured divisions to help overcome the shortage of cruiser tanks". They give a date of late 1940 for the first service deliveries of Valentines.

And, all of your sources are wrong. The Covenator did see action in North Afica. Somewhere between 10 and 12 went with 1st Armored Division to make up for shortages in their Crusader complement. I have a photo of one being repaired near Alamein.

I stand corrected on the Valentines. I didn't look up the dates on them. I thought they first saw action in early September not June and July. So, the Valentine was available with the 23rd Armored Brigade.

I'm not certain any of the 6pdr Crusaders were in use at this time although it is possible.

The Covenantor was sent to N Africa but is not see action as it could not cope with the condition of the desert. A major problems of most tanks in theatre. So in essence your both right :D

    Thanks m8!

All this info I need for a game I'm working on. For Axis forces in the same period, I picked Sdkfz7 and Sdkfz11. Do you think I should pick some more trucks and maybe some cars?
And according to Axis trucks and cars, can you tell me what to use for Allies ?
