Hello I'm a fairly new collector to WWII German helmets I would like to know what type of helmet I could buy for 300-400$.

$500 is reasonable,but to be fair peter! price is determined by seller not necessarily by the helmet,as you can see from germanhelmet site, prices depend on what type,decals,paintwork,condition,all things you need to consider,but the one on the last site I sent has a single decal heer,at $495 that is good value,especially as the site is very reputable,look around and you wil see helmets especially ss going for several thousands of $$$$,but like I say buy what you can afford/want to pay,but in my honest opinion use dealers or sellers with knowledge of what they sell and always ask about the helmet,regards ray..

Thanks. I was looking into that helmet. Also are gun/milltaira shows a ''safer'' way to buy helmets?

same method applies peter,ask and know your helmets,as in the event it turns out to be not what you thought then your unlikely to get money refund,if your wanting the real deal go with guarantee's where you are offered refund if not as described,that's not to say you wont get a good deal from militaria shows,just ask seller plenty of questions to satisfy yourself,but you need to know your field of interest, if you are hoping to get a good deal..

Hi Pete, that's probably at least a $700.00 lid. If you want something for $300-$400 range-it'll most likely be in bad condition and certainly not complete.

hi peter,from pics they both look 100%,, rivets appear tight,liners look o.k.,the luftwaffe one looks to be very dry and brittle,while the heer seems to be in good condition,asking price would be great value! if your seriously interested why not offer 600$ for the pair,again I say ask questions anything that could give some history is always a good thing,but bear in mind you'll need to trade safely? by this I mean! do you send money and hope you are gonna receive helmets? or which is a big or! does he arrange to make a safe trade,ask for some other pic, better still! some close ups of decals just to be sure,good luck,ray..
