Not offhand but if you can get the book Utmost Savagery there are some good maps in there that take the battle day by day if I remember correctly.

Carl, just tried few searches and although lots on Betio not any maps that I can see....But...thanks for bringing it up...now got more stuff to read...

Also, Im getting together some of the Norwegian fighting destroyer reports, all in document photocopies of photocopies etc stuff..Ill let you have em when Ive got em in some sort of sensible order.

I have never read about it but wasn't the fighting around Tarawa Atoll done not only on Betio Island but others in the surrounding atoll as well? "Tarawa on the Web" doesn't mention any of this. Can anyone elaborate?
