Japanese Exploded A-Bomb Aug. 12, 1945 on small Korean Island
Has anyone heard that the Japanese Exploded their own A-Bomb Aug. 12, 1945 on a small Island of Korea? Well I came across 3 URLS with different stories about the Japanese efforts to build an A-Bomb for their own use before the end of WWII. So anyone would like the URL'S I'll be happy to E-Mail them to you. Just E-Mail me at billlayton_50@yahoo.com Thanks.

Or you could just posts the links here and save the trouble of an email.
Never heard of a Japanese bomb, sounds...interesting.

Re: Jap’s Exploded A-Bomb Aug. 12, 1945 on small Korean Island
This was brought up in several recent books and as a program on the History(?) channel too. The evidence is pretty thin. The Imperial Army was supposedly the developer in what is now North Korea. The island is inaccessable for survey for that reason.
There are no credible written technical documents that support the claim and the few eyewittnesses have very sketchy details of the event and little or no technical knowledge of it.
On the whole, it is unlikely.

Re: Jap’s Exploded A-Bomb Aug. 12, 1945 on small Korean Island
Sounds about as reliable as the folks who a few years back claim to have found the real Mt. Sinai and actual evidence of the Exodus (which archaeologists have been searching for fruitlessly for over a hundred years) over in Saudi Arabia. Of course, the Saudis refuse to allow anyone in to the area which is near the border so no one can confirm this or even verify that these blokes actually were there in the first place. Or how about all the claims about Noah's Ark up on Mt. Ararat. If you believe all the accounts, it has been found on all sides of the mountain both intact and broken apart. Of course, no one has actual evidence because: a) the Soviets destroyed the photos; b) the guy who took the photos fell into a crevasse on the way down the mountain; c) the Turkish authorities won't allow anyone to climb back up the mountain because of "security problems".
Of course there is no evidence for any of this and no reason to believe these wannabe discoverers. Most of the big finds in history have already been made and a lot of latter day explorers who want to make a big name for themselves are only too eager to jump on a poor lead or simply make up a hoax themselves if they think it can give them their 15 minutes of fame. The supposed find of Jesus' tomb by James Cameron and Jacobovici is in the same league. Don't believe the hype, not in those cases and not in this one either. The fact that this supposed Japanese A-bomb is said to have been exploded on a remote island now occupied by one of the most secretive and repressive regimes around is just too perfect to keep people from confirming or discounting the claim. Given the complete lack of evidence of any sort that Japan was engaged in a nuclear program, combined with the lack of evidence for the claim, is enough to reject it in my book.
Don't believe the hype!

There is (was) evidence that a Japanese A-bomb was detonated on the Grassy Knoll, but the Warren Commission hushed up the matter.

I remember hearing about that Za, it exploded three times and was later found lying about in pristine condition.

Still no links from the thread starter. I'd like to see what these unnamed sources have to say.

It seems billlayton_50 has made this identical post at several other forums. I'm not sure why he asked for people to email him, mayhe you are soliciting emails? In any case I found a couple of the mysterious links, someone had posted them in response to this post on another site.

This sounds almost as good as those wonderful, mythical 'six Avro Lancasters buried complete' at Elsham in Lincolnshire, which pop up on the internet regularly.
Just dig 'em up, hit the starters and away you go.......!

Re: Japanese Exploded A-Bomb Aug. 12, 1945 on small Korean Island
Bill, I've merged this thread three times now, there is no need to post any new versions anywhere else on these Forums. Also, please don't use the term "Jap" anymore, "Japanese" will do. I sent you a PM about this, but it seems you haven't read that yet so I'm posting it here in the hopes you'll follow along.
OK, back yo your regularly scheduled thread...

Re: Japanese Exploded A-Bomb Aug. 12, 1945 on small Korean Island
I have yet to see any info on those threads that I would regard as reliable historical sources.
Most of it seems based on heresay and rumour, with a rather fortunate basis that the records are 'destroyed in the war' and the island(s) in question are unlikely to be investigated.
Personally I think the whole thing is poppycock given the fact that the leading Japanese scientist's theory on atomic weapon design was flawed from the start.

Re: Japanese Exploded A-Bomb Aug. 12, 1945 on small Korean Island
The big problem seems to be the making of U-235, which both Germany and Japan were both doing the wrong process and also did not have enough material to make the bomb. Also Plutonium was one possibility but it seems only the US team knew of its existence.
And just think that the Manhattan project cost a bit...where could Germany or Japan get that kinda resources truly?!

WARTIME DOCUMENTS SET RECORD STRAIGHT
Japan's A-bomb goal still long way off in '45
"The documents are one of a kind. We can finally prove that even if Japan had built a bomb, it would not have been powerful at all," said Masakatsu Yamazaki, a professor of science history at the Tokyo Institute of Technology who analyzed the papers. "And it might have taken them another decade to complete one."
-----------
No wonder the Japanese had a project or more on A-bomb. The Germans seems to have had three or four different projects going on towards the end of war, Luftwaffe and Waffen-SS had their own ones, too. And none of the teams knew what the other one was doing (!)

Re: Japanese Exploded A-Bomb Aug. 12, 1945 on small Korean Island
The first version I heard of, was a book published by a Christian organization in the USA that, based on the claims of one American correspondent, an anonymous Kempetei or Intelligence officer and discredited(by Japanese, Korean and Chinese TV specials) ousted Japanese scientist...the first version of the story back in the 90s was 1 bomb successfully tested and witnessed by thousands of Manchurians in Manchukuo in 1943...the second in Korea in late 1944.
The next version of the story was 1 in Manchukuo in 1944 another Korea 1945.
There was an actual TV documentary done and shown on TV to counter the Hiroshima memorial day, which may be telling about the producers...was 1 successfully detonated on the Korean coast before the American bombs dropped and even a 2nd in Japan itself in the far north by the navy program(the navy and army had 2 separate untied uncooperative programs going).
They claim that it was the Emperor or PM who chose not to retaliate though they could.
They also claim that the reason the Chinese and Koreans side with the Japanese as this being more American propaganda(and those 2 are the least likely to defend Japan about ww2) is that Russian occupation forces removed all the factories, materials even tools and somehow cleaned up the radiation too.
Critics have so much to point out I can't go into it.
But here are 2.
a) it meant that the Japanese had figured out a way hundreds of times more cost and time efficient than the Manhatten Project
AND that to this day they refuse to use that knowledge even for their own nuclear power programs.
b) if the Russians did kidnap(including staff) a successful Japanese atomic bomb program they would have had their own by 1946.
But who knows?
to this day most Americans believe the Spanish torpedoed the warship Maine in Cuba.
Most still believe Saddam was behind 9/11.
According to their recent Presidential coverage, nearly 40% believe the universe is less than 6,000 years old...
despite the fact that even Jimmy Carter, who used to be involved in physics notes that if you believed that you'd never have mastered the science to create the atom bomb.
And we think the Japanese, Germans and Italians were the only ones to swallow propaganda?

If the Germans couldn't get a bloody A-bomb working in time, I'd say that any economy that was still building houses out of paper and where it's people lived on a bowl of rice a day, didn't stand much chance. Not only that but the Allies had ships and planes by the thousand in that area at that time - were their crews all asleep with their fingers in their ears the time ?
