Did the British Empire's Campaign to "liberate" Burma from Japanese rule play any significant role in the defeat of Japan in World War 2 ? If so how ?

The way I see it, the campaign on Burma placed more emphasis on defending India from the Japanese. At the very least, fighting in Burma further strained Japanese logistics.

The Japanese were fighting on so many places that they lost the initiative and put on the defensive.

the way i see it is that not only did the japenese commit a vast amount of troops to india and burma. but between the losses at imphal, kohima and the japenese ideolgy of not surrendering that is what caused their defeat.
