My friend uncovered some old German ammunition and gave me a few. I have 3 8mm rounds that are completely intact. On the bottom in stamped 1938 with the 19 on one side of the cap and 38 on the other. On the bottom is the Reich mark with swastika. On top is the Roman numeral VIII. Does the VIII mean 8mm ir something else? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a few dozen of these myself.

These are 8x56R Austrian Steyr Mannlicher rounds.

The Eagle & Swastika denote manufacture under nazi Anschluss after March 1938.The factory is Wollersdorf,in Austria.
