I've been trying to find the name and specifications for a Soviet APC used during WW2.
So far I've yet to turn up anything on the internet.
Does anyone have a URL or other information on this elusive vehicle?

I did not know the Russians had an APC. I thought they used the American M3 halftrack. I will research. Thought I saw a website on all WWII vehicles.

The only APC I can think of that the Russians used as like PzJgr mentioned wasthe American Halftrack.
Now I know they did have other American armored vehicles (not including Stuarts, lees and Shermans) and it was an open topped tracked vehicle, but I think it was more like mobile artillery. I can picture it, but cant think of its name. I keep thinking of the Priest as a possibility.

Intersting, yes I thought only Ford trucks at their diposal and whatever they could come up with as to farm amchinery or maybe some other lend-lease items from the UK.
Funny, either you always see Soviet troops running on the ground or clinging to T-34's !

Oberiko, I was not able to find any Russian APCs used in WWII. Here is a link on when they first came out with the BMP-1. Sorry.

I don't think the russians had a real APC for a while after the war too. I know the Czechs made and used some german vehicles after the war, but in the mid 50s they started using soviet equipment, but still used a modern copy of the german halftrack. It was called the OT-118. I know they continued using it because the soviets lacked a usable APC. Well thats my little 2 cents.

I did a little research on this topic a few years ago. It doesn't surprise me that your internet search proved fruitless, because there were no Soviet APC's during the war. I don't have the original sources, but this is some of what I remember.
-The Red Army was planning to start adding personnal carriers, (armoured and otherwise), to their forces in late '41 through early '42.
-Heavy losses early in the war forced the Soviets to radically change their plans. Emphasis was placed on tank production over APC's/PC's.
-Regular infantry, (rilfemen), were not attached to tank units and were generally unaffected by this alteration
-machanised infantry, (shock armies), were paired with tank units, but no real transportation solutions were developed. These troops simply rode into combat on tanks, and quickly dismounted when they entered combat.
-Even trucks were in scarce supply, and those were used to ferry supplies and artillery to the front. A large portion of the trucks used early in the comnflict were US made products of the lend-lease
Thats all I have for now, I'll post more if I can remember anything else.
