Which weapon would you most hate to deal with, have used against you?
I can think of many, but it's tough to pick a worse one.
Bouncing Betty, Long Lance, Proximity warhead, White Phosphorus, V-2, etc.

I'd hate to be a Japanese soldier in a cave knowing there is a Marine around the corner with a flamethrower.
I'd hate to be in a lone Sherman against a Panther, Tiger, or Tiger II.
I'd hate to be a Polish calvary soldier on the receiving end of Blitzkrieg.
I'd hate to have to deal with a M-1 Carbine as my primary weapon.

Probably the range.
I have a Winchester made one, and I bought some "tracer" ammo for it.
When I took it out to a 200 yard range, the tracer just barely lit before it hit the target, but the drop of the round was astounding.
That is compaired to a ..mini 14, SKS, FNFAL, HK, or other modern/semi-modern assult rifles. 5.56 or 7.62/39. Not unlike a 30/30.
I've seen revolvers that fire the same round, now that's a pistol.
A far as a rifle...eh...not the best. Light weight though, easy to load, and you can get a banana (30 shot) clips.

I'd have to go with miller on the flamethrower!
or
"Flammenwerfer" since it was invented by the Germans. They gave the French hell with it even in wwi, I think?

I've heard the Germans disliked the U.S. WP land mines. It's said that if a fragment of it landed on top of your helmet, it would fall out your butt. If you didn't move, of course.
No way to put it out because it has its own oxygen supply.
Invert the wound and dig it out way the only way to do anything about a hit.
ouch?

Small round. It was especially unfavorable in the Pacific in the hands of Marines. There just wasn't enough stopping power in the .30 carbine cartridge. Just stack one up to a 7.62 mm round and compare.

There will be many different answers for this one ( and let's be honest, I'd hate to be on the receiving end of just about anything ) but the flamethrower must be high on the list - and also, the Schu-mine was definitely hated by the 'Tommies'....

Nothing like the sweet sound of the Stalin Organs to wake you up. I can bet the Russians felt the same about the Nebelwerfers though.

US WP armaments were downright nasty.
I've talked to a few veterans, and almost every one mentioned a hatred for mortars. I guess it's one of the weapons you can always hear coming, very disoncerting.

I'd have to pick the mine. The Gordon vets I have spoken to called it the 'de-bollocker' Ouch!!!
Miller
The M-1 carabine is a fantastic weapon. My grandad used it on patrols on Blue Helmet operations. Not many firefights happen at the range of 200 yards.

The things I'd hate to be during WWII?...Hmmm...this is a good one...
Well I guess just for starters I would hate to be in the Royal Navy....the logisitcs aren't bad but, having to know your ships are thinly armored for speed instead of an all out gun fight...not good...
The second....I'd hate to be a lone "Gravel-Aggitater" w/ or w/o a M1 Bazooka vs. a German Panther, Tiger or Tiger II
Thirdly....I'd hate to be on the Anzio beachhead...from January to May 1944(Bastogne)...Pfffff....
Fourthly... I'd Hate to be in the middle of the Rapidio River disaster.... Boy they got tore up... nasty....
These are just some of my "I'd hate to be"...
Regards,
MARNE

Do the rations you are issued count? I know there was more than once when I didn't want to face them!
