Were there Japanese battleships that was succesful more than 1 time in the pacific war?

Well, if you count the Kirishima's action against the 1st and elements of the 2nd Marine Divisions holding Henderson Field in September 1942. I guess so.

That would pretty much have to be Yamato/Musashi.
They had inglorious carrers though.

As much as I could find information on both,...
Yamato took...
16 bomb hits
14 torpedo hits
The magizine from #2 turret exploded and blew it in half as it sunk.

No clear #s on planes shot down, even with the much heralded "Sanshikidan" (bee-hive) anti-aircraft shells for the 18.1 inch guns.

Musashi took...
19 torpedo hits
17 bomb hits
18 near misses
and the japanese shot down 18 planes.
No clear numbers on the effect of the "Sanshikidan" effort here either.
