Hi all,

as a supplement to the Garand clip posting here some more recent WW2 finds.

Are these US WW2 ammo boxes?

This is how the searched area looks like. When you jump around in this hang the whole day you start feeling like a mountain goat...

Among the most unpleasant remains of WW2 are 2 cm grenades, either duds...

... or complete cartridges. This ammunition is considered unstable, especially the duds, and photos is all I take.

To finish this small finds panorama with a non WW2 find, here is a chunk of bronze weighing 126 g. It was found in an area that was settled in bronze age times and indeed I hope the item is some 3000 years old bronze raw material waiting to be re-melted into a spear head or whatever. Unfortunately, most likely it will not be possible to date this item. Could be 100 or 3000 years old.

Greetings,
Thorsten

Well, as long as one of your legs is shorter than the other, you'll do OK.

Those are nice finds. Unfortunately, (or perhaps fortunately), there are few such opportunities here in the states, except for Civil War battlefields in the South, at least that I know of.

You got that right. I would love to have the chance to search Germany for artifacts and things left behind. Those finds look intersting.
