While there are boards that accept as usual to some degree swearing, it is not normally acceptable here. Just a note.

Anyway, as to the question. This is a tough one for a straight answer. Aviation changed greatly from 1939 to 1945. But, if forced to choose, I would say:

Superheavy bomber: B-29 Nothing else is in its class.
Heavy bomber: Avro Lancaster Reasonably armed and survivable. Totes an unmatched load.
Medium bomber: Mitchell B-25 Versitility is its name. The penultimate sign of a great medium.
Attack bomber: Ju 88 The US A 20 or Soviet Pe 2 pales in comparison.
Dive Bomber: Ju 87. It did it best in the niche it was built to fill.
Attack fighter: Vought's F4U Corsair. I would have chosen the Douglas A-1 Skyraider but it is really a postwar aircraft. The F4U outlasted virtually everything else that was contemporary in this role given it was first flying in 1940 and lasted in front line service through the mid 50's with more than one nation. That's an exceptional record.

Now, if you want of all time I'd say the B-52 takes that title. It has been flying for nearly half of all aviation history in the bomber role and performed exceptionally well at it.

The A-1 and A-26 were more Korean and Viet Nam era aircraft.

The rest I agree with TA on.

A class he left out would be flying boat bomber and the Japanese Emily would win that class of patrol bomber.

It wasn't the Manchester, that's for sure.
I'd say the Lancaster. I just wish it had an extra turret. It was great for evasive action and could almost be flown as a fighter. Also a modified version could carry the grand slam.

What about the bomber version of the Mosquito? Damn fast and survivable. As for German, I like the FW 200 Condor. American: has to be the Liberator. Japanese: the Mitsubishi G4M "Betty"

For me....

Super Heavy Bomber: I agree with T.A., The Boeing B-29 Superfortress, its war finisher!
Heavy Bomber: The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, durability is its middle name.
Medium Bomber: Again I agree with T.A., the North American B-25 Mitchell, multi-functional.
Attack Bomber: Again T.A. has it with the JU-88, deadly.
Dive Bomber: The Douglas SBD Dauntless, it set the tone of Midway and the rest of WWII in the Pacific.
Attack Fighter: Grumman F6F Hellcat, highest scoring kill ratio overall for WWII.

Best Bomber of All Time...Beoing B-29 Superfortress....it paved the way for bombers like the B-52 Stratofortress.
