Why do people destroy historical aircraft ? They could have easily parked this plane in the desert with others after they were finished with it and it would be with us today. Such short sighted people.

I feel your pain.
A large swathe of Bovington Tank museum's collection of unique vehicles went to scrap-drives in the 30's and 50's & it's believed that Kubinka's amazing collection of German armour only represents a third of what was there following similar Scrapping. I suppose a country's got to use every resource it has in those lean times but I'm glad the preservation movement seems so strong at the moment. Let's hope Aberdeen Proving Ground manages to catch up and rescue the bulk of it's fascinating collection before it crumbles away.
Cheers,
Adam.
