The Wheatcroft Collection
Posted this on A.N.Other forum so apologies for repetition to those who visit there too.
I'm just overexcited...
Having spent years checking the address to see if Kevin Wheatcroft's astonishing collection's website has gone live, it finally has:
http://www.wheatcroftcollection.com/home.html
3 panthers, 3 Hetzers, Flakpanzer 38, etc. etc. etc. and loads more. Fascinating to finally see what they have, and it's even more than I'd suspected.
Also they've now gone public and confirmed the strong rumour that there are chunks of Kingtiger slated for the long process of full restoration.
I'm happy now.
Cheers,
Adam.

Re: The Wheatcroft Collection
This is amazing. To have the resources and time to acquire such a collection. I would love to accomplish something like that. Thanks Adam

Wow!
How about starting your own blitzkrieg on your backyard with those...

Re: The Wheatcroft Collection
How difficult would it be to have replacement parts made? I am amazed that such a thing could be done. Cheers

I know they do their damndest to hunt down and restore parts and make many replacements themselves but in a recent interview with Jaques Littlefield (2 articles on there well worth a look) he referred to getting together with other collectors, (presumably including Wheatcroft, he specifically mentioned Panther Torsion bars and was shown visiting there) and having more complex new parts manufactured in bulk to cut costs... This from a billionaire makes me wonder just how much those parts might cost...
Inspired by your sig PzJgr; one of littlefields restorations here, $100,000 to acquire the Stug, $200,000 on restoration.

Awesome! I was hoping to view it on their website but they did not have any links to the photos. The StuG is my favorite of all the German AFV. Thanks Adam.

Re: The Wheatcroft Collection
As there doesn't appear to be a dedicated Stug thread ( ) I thought I'd pop these videos in here to go alongside the Littlefield restoration:
Stug. rides again in Spain:
YouTube - Stug rides again
YouTube - The Stug“s first steps
Museo Militar de Cartagena.
Cheers,
Adam.
(with apologies for repetition to those that frequent a.n.other forum )
