Default Junker 88 question

Hello there,

Who knows what were the most widely produced Ju-88 versions and what was their main role (night hunting / bomber / recon) ?

I believe the Ju88A4 (bomber) was the most common version, but what are the others ?

Talking Re: Junker 88 question

The A-4 was a level bomber and a dive bomber and later they were the bottom half of a Mistel pair.

The Ju-88 series ran from the letters A-T but the later letters did not have much in common with the earlier versions. Then after that there were a string of Ju-188 versions, then 288's then Ju-388's and last the four engine 488 heavy bombers.

I bet you are sorry you asked now !

This site gives ship, tank and aircraft production figures but I would not take them too seriously as the Sterling aircraft production is incorrect.

Castle Bromwich in Birminham put out 11,780 Spitfires. I wonder if the Germans ever tried to bomb it ?

Well it's exactly the type of mess I was afraid of !

Thanks alots for the link, I will check it, if some of the numbers given there are a bit off, I guess they however will give a picture of what were the most produced versions.

My memory is dim, but I think so. Production of 28 aircraft was delayed a week & two were scrapped as total losses. Then again I may be thinking of another factory.
