Along with the M1 i have an WWII japanese rifle that i think is an arisaka type 98. All its internal workings are good despite it looking like it has been through hell. I was wondering if anybody had any info on these rifles. More importantly i was wondering what type of round it fired. Ive got to shoot this gun. Ill try to post a pic.

Take the rifle to any decent gun shop. 7.7mm and 6.5mm Japanese ammunition is usually available and is still manufactured by companies in Belgium and Finland. The 7.7mm stuff is more readily available than the 6.5. Expect to pay .75 to $1 a round.
By-the-by, the Japanese infantry rifle is pretty poor as a weapon.
