Default B-24, B-25 walk arounds posted

well, perhaps not entirely accurate as the Liberator served as an LB-30B

Diamond Lil was shot before the rebuild that brought her back closer to standard bomber configuration - I saw her this past weekend (well, the top of her tails at least), and would've dearly loved another close-up inspection, but I couldn't handle the walk and then waiting in the security line for a half hour in 90F heat (whine, whine)

I was fortunate to be able to crawl aroud in Diamond Lil and Fifi, the only flying B-29, about 25 years ago (geez, has it been that long?)

They were great planes and I wished that I had had more time and maybe the coins to be able to swing a flight.

The Confederate Air Force was trying restore a PBY at that time. Does anyone know if they ever got her off the ground?

I saw the 'Dragon and his tail' (B-24) on one of those get a ride tours. I was impressed how much bigger (inside) it was compared to the B-17.

Can some one compare the B-29 to the B-24 in that way? I have only ever seen static displays of that monstrous (for the time) bird. The museum I saw it at, they had a P-39 Aircobra parked under the wing. Plenty of clearance.

Nice walk arounds though.
