Default Woman finds grenade in bag of potatoes!

TheStar.com | News | Italian woman finds live grenade in potato bag

I don't know if you guys have ever heard of this but I remember reading it years ago. I thought I'd share it with you.
In about the same timeframe I remember reading an article where some guys, in Germany, were sent to fix a cloged sewer under a street found a neat suprise. Some sandbags full of German medals and a MG-42 were the blockage. I'm still looking for that article. It seems that one had a picture.
Cheers, Josh

I guess that in WWII the headline would have read : - 'Woman Finds Potato In Bag Of Grenades'

One good recipe I have for fried potatos à la Russe (not "potatoes", I'm not a former American V.P.!) is you get your unpeeled potatos, cut them in half, then slice the halfs into not so thin slices, say 6mm (or 1/4" depending on your persuasion), and then deep fry them. When done add salt to taste and lots of ground black pepper.

You could do the same for fried grenades à la Russe I suppose you need a different cooking garb

I am new here. I have been reading a lot of the old posts, sorry this was already posted. Has the one about the MG-42 been posted too, I would like to read the article again.
Thanks and sorry for posting old news.
I like it here.
