Re: Favorate tank?
Since the StuG is'nt 'really' a tank, I'll go with the PZ IV.

I'm strictly a StuG guy but it does not qualify as a 'tank' so I will go with the venerable Pzkfw IV Ausf. f2

Re: Favorate tank?
I would have to say the, T-34/85 great all round tank and possibly the best tank in the war, adn close behind that the Tiger I and the M4 Sherman all great tanks.

Most emphaticaly!
My choice would be the:
Too bad this one didn't get to be developed properly.
I am starting to wonder if my affinity for Macs and German tanks is not somehow linked to an appreciation of large cats.

That would be an assault gun. Not too bad though.

Tik, the JagdPanther makes me drool.
And I forgot this one. What could have been the British Tiger.

The Tank, Infantry, Black Prince (A43), AKA 'Super Churchill'
Armour: 152mm (Tiger: 101mm)
Armament: 17pdr & 2xBesas (I think we all know what the Tiger sported)
Speed (wait for it): 11mph (thats 11mph less than the Tiger BTW)
Weight: 50 tons (6 less than the Tiger)

Re: Favorate tank?
Hey, Tikilal, those aren't tanks, those are tank hunters by definition!
Ok, ok, we can change the scope of this thread to Armoured Vehicles in general

Re: Favorate AFV?
Nice title change ('cept for the spellinge... but that could cause an international incident to get right) nobody knows what a 'tank' is anyway .
I am currently mildly obsessed with the 234 series, which, unlike many German designs, I don't regard as something of an evolutionary dead end, it also seems to hold a fascination well beyond it's production numbers:
The Dingo will always float my boat too, superb machine that proved it's worth countless times and led directly to another favourite, the Ferret.
Perhaps favourite of all for WW2 are the Bren, & Universal carriers, just iconic of the Commonwealth forces for me:
(pictures from IWM collections, except for the colour one, I don't recall where that one's from)
But the above production vehicles don't really reflect the fascinating world of doomed prototypes and 'could have beens' where some of my real 'favourites' reside.
In fact, the scope is now far too wide...
Favourite AFV?
My answer: Yes.
Cheers,
Adam.

Re: Favourite AFV?
I thought I spelt it right...Well hopefully it won't cause too much of an incident...like the breaking up of NATO, perhaps?

I'm with you Adam. I love those 8 Rad set of wheels. Next to the StuGs, the sdkfz 234s or a fav. I noticed that Germany and Great Britain relied heavily on their armoured cars.
