Question M40 SPG 155mm Gun motor carriage ?

Did the British us the M40 SPG 155mm Gun motor carriage in WW2 ?

The M40 is really a postwar vehicle. While prototypes were built during the war they didn't see service operationally. The wartime 155mm SP gun for the US was the M12. That was purely a US use vehicle.
