Re: High Tech German military
i think the german army is the best because they fared as well as they did with horses and cows and bicycles. and i dont thinks the americans had an assault rifle, a jet, or tanks fitted with infra-red night vision sights.

Re: High Tech German military
From what I have read quite a few were surprised. Especially after hearing all the propaganda about the "Awesome" Wehrmacht. I wonder what the pilots that were doing the strafing thought when they were slaughtering all the horses .

Re: High Tech German military
And no one is doubting that. That is not the purpose of the thread. Nor has anyone stated so. . But it appears that those who are in awe or has the view that they were "awesome" tend to think so.

I agree. You would think that with the scarcity of weapons at that time the Germans would have put more effort into retreiving them. But with the demodernization of the German military as the war progressed it became harder and harder for them. The Us would not really give the problem a second thought.

"The total number of horses used by the German armed forces during the war is unknown, but losses appear to have totaled about 2.7 million, nearly double the 1.4 million that were lost in World War I. This includes animals killed for food"
