Re: Geiger counter
I know that, but I would like to know something more about this specific G.counter. I found it on Sunday fair in Zagreb.

Re: Geiger counter
What do you mean about that specific Geiger?
The Geiger counters measure radiation.
Do you wanna know their use in WWII?
Cheers...

Re: Geiger counter
Other than it looks like French on the tag, I can tell you nothing else.

Re: Geiger counter
I sent an email to my cousin, he works in that field. We'll see what he says. I did a search and came up with nothing. Which is probably what brought you here! Oh well! I tried! I'll let you know if I hear anything!

Re: Geiger counter
I also did a search and I know what was Geiger counter's use in WW2 and how does it work, but I can't find anything about this one - where it was used?, in what year?, is some part missing whit it?, is it rare because no one I asked have seen it?, etc...

Re: Geiger counter
If it were some type of WWII weapon it might be easier to identify. IMO I don't think it may be of WWII vintage. Why would the French military or even any other have a reason to issue a radiation counter? It should be post war.

Re: Geiger counter
Likely it is post war. From the design it appears to be a sintillation detector for alpha and beta radiation rather than a geiger-müller gamma detector.
