To me, the Goliath (while technically impressive), was kind of ridiculous weapon. It's the type of desperate project that an Allied armament board would simply pass over.
Each unit cost 3,000 Reichsmarks (compared to IE, a MG42, which was around 250 RM) and could be easily destroyed by small arms fire.

I believe this is from the warsaw uprising. Quite a few goliaths got their cables cut by resistance fighters and had their explosives content taken to make hand grenades.
