rofl, I saw that and I'm like "imagine all the Shermans were produced like this..."

Panzer IV commanders would've freaked out and run away XD

These 105mm were not guns but howizers with a much lower muzzle velocity. I doubt that they even had an AP round (altough late in the war they might have had an HEAT)

Their AP performance was probably much less than that of even the basic 75 mm

indicates they were carrying HEAT round in 43

i stand corrected

Altought the 105mm heat would have a more curved trajectory and thus more difficult to hit with.

Tube lunched HEAT projectiles of this period (and much later) suffers from fusing failures at high impact angles. If fired agaisnt sloped armor like the glacis plate of the Panther tank, any angle greater than 20 degrees would probably fail. But why launch exotic ammo when plain HE could do the job? 105mm howtizer might not be accurate, but the brute force of a HE explosion at the face could ruin any panzer's day.
