What If? Alternate History: Speculate about WWII battles that never were. Could the Axis have won? What if Hitler had the bomb?

If Germany had done that, then by '44 there would be no one living in Berlin, Hamburg, or practically any major city for that matter. The Allies had huge stores of chemical agents ready for use on Japan and Germany if they so much as used a mortar barrage on the field, IMO.

It would have been a disaster in the end for them to have done it.

Any idea what sort of stuff this was?
I'm thinking WW1 era chemical gasses, but presumed the nerve agents to be sort of "next-generation" stuff that the Allies did not possess.

it was probably just nerve gasses.

Many people argue the A-bomb was very devesatating to civilians but they didnt know the alternative. some early VX may have been just coming about? I know they had some in Nam. But they were going to use so much i imagine it would have been old stockpiles as well.

The plan called for pre-landing dustings of all major Landing areas and the interoir cities to exterminate Japanese resistance. the Casualties would have hourandous in the hundreds of thousands just from these intial pre-landing attacks. And then the soldierso n the ground wouldnt have been as patient previous landings they were going to be issued live gas mortar rounds, and even possible hand grenades to flush the Japanese out of the caves.

The Allies did have huge stores of Mustard Gas, ready to be used-just in case. Thank god, at least that didnt happen.
